Background:

Sodium channels are well-known targets for a variety of widely-used and relatively safe insecticides, such as pyrethroid insecticides (e.g., bifenthrin and cyfluthrin). Thus, understanding the function and structure of these sodium channels are important for insecticide research and development.

Description of Technology:

These insect sodium channel clones were isolated from the cockroach (Blattella germanica) genome for expression and characterization in Xenopus oocytes. These sodium channel clones can be used for insecticide research and development.
