Abstract
Novel storage solution for renewable energy that may be otherwise lost when production exceeds demand. Conductive concrete could be implemented in existing power plants to store this energy for later use.

Technology Description

This technology is a thermal battery employing conductive concrete to store renewable energy. Direct joule heating (electricity) of conductive concrete streamlines the process of renewable energy storage. Bypassing generators and other mechanisms needed to initially convert the energy to a thermal state, the conductive concrete battery results in higher efficiency with potential for residential and grid-scale applications.
