Although Vietnam is one of the countries have been effectively controling the Covid-19 situation, the number of international visitors to Vietnam have been declined dramatically. To recover, the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism recently launched a program called “Vietnamese traveling Vietnam” to encourage domestic tourists and Vietnamese communities living abroad to explore the values, culture and scenic beauty in Vietnam.
In fact, each year, the number of domestic tourists is more than 30 million visitors, and will increase strongly if invested and managed effectively. Well-developed domestic tourism has a huge advantage for Vietnam’s economy because of the close links between related industries such as aviation, F&B services, and hospitality. In addition to launching promotions and incentives, this is the right time for tourism and hotel businesses to upgrade their facilities and train staff to improve service quality and competitiveness. Especially at this moment, safe destinations such as Ly Son, Con Dao, Phu Quoc, Phu Yen, Ba Ria Vung Tau need to be promoted with a marketing strategy to attract domestic tourists to start the trips and relax after the pandemic season.
