2022-022: Modular Respiratory Sensor Integration Block System

Abstract:

This invention comprises a Sensor Integration Block (SIB) that may be inserted in-line between a patent’s respiratory mask, commercially available respirator, or other breathing device. The SIB device will record, log, and analyze a comprehensive dataset and display this data in real-time to medical personnel.

The data is collected during each respiratory cycle of inhalation and exhalation, including tidal volume, respiratory pressure, and total oxygen/carbon dioxide change over time. This data, in addition to being analyzed and displayed to caregivers in real-time, is also stored and compiled so that trends for the individual patient and even cohorts of patients can be analyzed.
